Homeowner Workshops

Water Conservation Seminars for Homeowners for Outdoor Water Conservation

Georgia Cooperative Extension Service Water Banner Program

As a part of the Water Banner Program we have 4 topics to offer to County Agents to provide some in-depth training for their homeowners in a “Lunch and Learn” kind of format through Horizon Wimba. By using Horizon Wimba we can reach a large audience and reduce travel for the specialists while having programs available locally.

Each session will be a 30 to 45 minute session depending on each agents’ preference. The formal presentation would last for 30 minutes starting at 12:30. Then at 1:00 there will be time for questions and answers with the Specialist presenting and/or the county agents locally. We will also have some equipment or something to demonstrate that will be provided to each agent to continue the discussions locally if they want to do that (i.e. rain barrel example for rainwater harvesting, drip emitters for the drip irrigation class, etc.).

We are offering each of the 4 topics, two times, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You may sign up for any combination of dates you would like to participate in, and it is fine if you sign up for only 1 or 2 of the topics. If you would like to bring any of these classes to your county through Horizon/Wimba, please send an e-mail with the dates that you would like to participate to Rose Mary Seymour (rseymour@uga.edu). The deadline for registering for a particular Seminar date is 10 days before the class is held. The topics with their educator, available dates and a short description for each are
