The Hispanic population in the United States has reached almost 39 million. According to the US Department of Labor's Bureau of Statistics, Hispanics constitute 11.1% of the workforce in the country. Based on an informal survery conducted by the former National Arborist Association (NAA, now Tree Care Industry Association. TCIA) in 1994, it is estimated that at least 75% of the tree care workers in the US are Hispanics. The same estimates hold true for the green industry in general. This creates the need to address issues and concerns such as providing infomation for the green industry, job safety and cultural barriers, on both the employees and employers' sides. We hope this site provides some of the tools to address these problems.
