Windows XP Service Pack 2 Information

Microsoft has recently released a major collection of hotfixes for Windows XP known as service pack 2. At this time, the OIT HelpDesk recommends not to install this service pack as it has been associated with several technical problems. If you have already installed service pack 2 and everything seems to be working, this is fine. However, if you have not already installed the service pack and get a critical update notice to do so, please do not install the service pack. There will be an OIT advisement regarding this issue in the near future.
